‘drenched gardens salty fingers ‘ Sound installation (2023) commissioned by Hinni Huttunen & AnnaLeena Prykäri- QUEER COHESION -at Detroit Gallery (Stockholm)

Through 10 min. sound guided experience, the audience is introduced into a haptic-sonic microcosmos of valleys, mountains and wetlands. By activating the cutaneous senses, the nuances of the surface uncover and the inter-relations become palpable [imagine the smell of my fingers].

The touch activates the mechanoreceptors responding to mechanical pressure or distortion, transforming it into electrical signal. The installation generates sustained responses to static stimulation creating a common materiality, an indefinite sensuous boundary.

(close your eyes for a better experience)

there is a place, like a fountain

where liquids are winding

time is different

waterfalls in all directions

meandering springs

meandering springs around your fingers

your fingers

your fingers explore themselves slowly

slowly they approach the garden

very softly hey travel around the surface

the surface slides gently between your fingers

it’s soft, very soft, salty and moisturised

like seaweed

th plants breath and under the surface there is a dark and old pulsation

warm, wet

warm, wet

your fingers, your fingers

meet again

explore themselves again

soft, salty
